Planning Your Event at Vizcaya
Vizcaya is both a National Historic Landmark and a public museum, so we take pride in protecting this one-of-a-kind property and respecting our valued daytime visitors. We are honored by your interest in hosting an event at Vizcaya, and look forward to helping you understand how, as a client, you will be asked to join in our stewardship of this local and national treasure.

Daytime Garden Ceremonies
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens offers facility rentals to help defray the costs of operating and maintaining this historic property. To welcome those who wish to have a more modest marriage, commitment, or other ceremony at Vizcaya, we offer Daytime Garden Ceremonies.

Daytime garden ceremonies may take place in the gardens during the hours of 9:30 am to 3 pm. There is no access to the Main House for the bride, groom, bridal party or guests. Photographers are permitted to accompany the group. Chairs may not be placed on the property for the garden ceremony. We regret that we cannot allow wedding canopies, or runners for the daytime garden ceremony. Only hand-held chupahs may be used. Food and beverages are not permitted during garden ceremonies. If you wish to have music at your event, we invite you to arrange for one hand-held instrument. Daytime garden ceremony clients are welcome to have a simple reception at the Vizcaya Café and Shop, drawing from our regular menu. Contact the Café and Shop at 305-856-8189 for more information (capacity for these receptions is limited).

Fees
Daytime Garden Ceremony for up to 25 guests* $1,000
Each additional guest* (up to 25 additional guests) $25

Please note that a 7% sales tax applies to all fees.
*Guests include all people associated with the garden ceremony including photographer, officiants, attendants and musician.

Evening Facility Rentals
Whether it’s a corporate event, a wedding or commitment ceremony, or another special occasion, Miami’s historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens provides an impressive location. Vizcaya is available for rent during the evening hours and guests have the exclusive use of the inner courtyard, outside terraces, and gardens. Private events cannot be held during the day as Vizcaya operates as a public museum throughout the year.

Additional Information on Evening Rentals
Fees
The base fee for evening rentals applies to 125 guests between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Further fees apply for additional guests or evening hours. For an additional fee, rental clients may request to have Vizcaya’s ground-floor historic interiors open for the enjoyment of their guests.

Please note that Vizcaya provides only the location, and all prices are subject to change.

Base Rental Fee
Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening $12,500
Monday–Thursday evening $7,500
   
Supplementary Fees
For each guest over 125 $25
For each hour between 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. $1,500
Opening of historic interiors for 2 hours $2,500
Opening of historic interiors for each hour over initial 2 $1,200

Please note that a 7% sales tax applies to all fees.

Deposit
A deposit of $7,500 is due two weeks after event date is requested.  The $7,500 deposit consists of $5,000 that is non-refundable and will be applied toward the payment for the event, and $2,500 that constitutes a security deposit that is refundable as per the terms of the facility rental agreement.

 

Catering and Rental Equipment Permits
All caterers and rental equipment company representatives must obtain a Catering Permit and/or a Rental Equipment Company Permit by 4 pm the business day prior to the event. Permit fees are:

1–125 Guests
Catering & Rental Equipment Permit: $375

126–500 Guests
Catering & Rental Equipment Permit: $525

501–2000 Guests
Catering & Rental Equipment Permit: $750

All Permit Fees are non-refundabllr

Tent Rental
If you are concerned about inclement weather, a tent can be rented (PDF - 6.36 KB) to cover the East Terrace overlooking the Great Stone Barge and Biscayne Bay.

Gifts for Your Guests
The Vizcaya Café and Shop offers a number of Vizcaya gifts for your special guests, including wineglasses and champagne flutes, coasters, and chocolate bars bearing our distinctive logo. For more information about these items contact the Vizcaya Café and Shop at 305-856-8189.

Police Officers
Police officers are recommended for larger events (300+) for traffic control and pedestrian crossing on South Miami Avenue. Miami-Dade police officers may be retained at sole cost to client or hosting organization, by Vizcaya Museum and Gardens for $100/hour each.(four hour minimum).
